Neighbourhood Plan consultation opens
Work on a Neighborhood Plans for the south of Hertford has started, with a survey and community meeting sheduled for November.
This meeting is for all residents and businesses in the Castle Plus area of Hertford and will take place at 7:30pm on Thursday 14th November at Simon Balle School. This is your chance to express your views and priorities for the southern part of the town including the town centre and Hertingfordbury village.
The Castle Plus area is made up of the former Castle Ward, including those areas that were reassigned to Kingsmead and Bengeo wards following recent boundary changes.
The survey allows residents to share their thoughts on the Neighbourhood Plan, helping create a vision that reflects the needs of the community.
Neighbourhood Plans set out local planning policies for the development and use of land in a designated neighbourhood area. However, they are constrained by the wider District Plan. Unlike the District Plan though, the policies are created by local residents and businesses, together with the town council and other stakeholders.
Bengeo, Kingsmead and Sele already have Neighbourhood Plans in place.
Updated 26/10/24 to correct date of meeting from 4th November to 14th November
