Two arrested and drugs seized following dog attack

Tuesday 8 April 2025

Two people were arrested, a quantity of drugs recovered, and a dog believed to be of a banned breed was seized during a warrant in Hertford yesterday.

Officers carried out an operation following a report of a child being injured by a dog. A dog was seized, and enquiries are continuing.

A search of an outbuilding also uncovered a quantity of suspected Class A and Class B drugs, as well as a large amount of cash.

Further searches were subsequently carried out at a second location and items which had potentially been used in crime, including a knife, technical equipment and further drugs were located and seized.

Two people, aged 19 and 21, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs. They have been released on bail while the investigation continues.

PC Amie Harrison, who led the operation, said: "This warrant was originally carried out as part of enquiries around an alleged dog attack. However, we ended up getting much more than we’d bargained for, locating a large quantity of drugs and other items of interest. Police enquiries are now continuing."
