Monsoon to close

Retail clothing chain Mosoon Accessorize are closing their Hertford branch, with the loss of ten jobs.

The Salisbury Square outlet has been trading for 20 years in the town, taking over the shops from Gravesons.

Staff have been told that the owner of the building is "booting them out".

The shops will close their doors for the last time on Friday 14th February.

Monsoon Accessorize are closing a number of branches around the country, including Woking, York and Newport on the Isle of Wight.

It is unclear if any new retailer will take on the premises once Monsoon have closed.

News of the closure comes after a report to the District Council said that Hertford needs "visible, proactive and targeted support and intervention urgently".

Other shops closing since the new year include Botsfords, Sugar Smith and Kids Connection, who are moving to new premises in Hartham Lane.
