Tyre centre redevelopment proposed
A former tyre centre in the town centre could become flats if plans submitted to the District Council are approved.

The premises in Fore Street at the junction with South Street were recently the home of Tyre Pros and currently occupied by food charity Jedidiah.
If planning permission is granted the existing building will be demolished and replaced with a three storey development of 13 flats fronted by a retail unit.
The lower floor would include parkling for nine vehicles, accessed from the existing service road running parallel to Gascoyne Way.
Commenting on the low number of parking spaces, Hertford Civic Society said: "It is unrealistic to expect all of the apartments to be occupied by non-car owners. Much work is yet to be done both nationally and locally to persuade a significant proportion of the public to give up car ownership in order to achieve sustainability targets."
A decision on the proposals is expected by the Summer.
