Angela Emsley (Independent) and Matthew McCormick (Conservative) have been elected to Hertford Town Council following yesterday's by-election.
Cllr Emsley won convincingly in Sele Ward against the Tories Darren Ypey, polling 334 votes against Mr.Ypes' 257.
In Castle Ward, Cllr.McCormick beat off challenges from two independents, gaining 471 votes. James Morris polled 22 votes whilst Stephen Froud received 190 votes.
