Oyster Coming to Hertford North
Hertford North will become one of the first stations to accept Oyster and contactless payments when the ticketing system is extended in the new year.
The extention of the scheme on Great Northern Rail services will allow commuters to use their contactless cards to travel to London and on London bus and tube services. Other stations will be added later in the year, including Welwyn Garden City, St.Albans and Harpenden, as well as services to Luton Airport.

Oyster was introduced on Greater Anglia services at Hertford East over 3 years ago.
Rail minister Andrew Jones said: "This is about making access to the capital even easier for commuters and other rail travellers, including visitors to the UK arriving at Luton Airport. Extending pay-as-you-go now will also help us better understand passenger travel patterns and will form the basis of the consultation we are launching early next year into making it available across much more of the south east."
