A four year old child received minor injuries during an encounter with a dog in the castle grounds recently.
Police are appealing for witnesses and information following reports of the dog being dangerously out of control.
At around noon on Monday 22nd August, it was reported that a four year old child sustained minor injuries after a dog jumped up at her, causing her to fall to the floor.
The dog was described as a brown and white bulldog. The person with the dog was described as a white man in his 30s.
He was said to have short dark hair and was wearing a black t-shirt and shorts. He was also with another male, who was walking a Rottweiler dog on a lead.
PC Olivia Allardyce, who is investigating, said: "If you were in the area at the time of the incident, and have not already spoken with police, we would like to hear from you. Alternatively, if you recognise the dog or owner from the description given also get in touch."
Anyone with information is asked to please email PC Allardyce.
Alternatively you can also report information online, or speak to an operator via online web chat, or by calling the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/67873/22.
