Crowds flock to Car Show

Residents and enthusiasts enjoyed beautiful weather at this year's Cars At The Castle, with over 60 vehicles on show.

Classic and modern cars took part in the event in the Castle grounds, along with a couple of motorcycles and a selection of electrically powered cars courtesy of sponsors Gates Ltd.

During the event the Mayor of Hertford Cllr Vicky Smith awarded trophies to the owners in the following categories:-

• Best paint work - Thomas Metz - VW Karamann Ghia 1971
• Best interior - Tony Wood - Lotus Elan plus 2 1973
• Best post-1970 car - Ben Cicchirillo – Mini Cooper 1993
• Best pre-1970 car - Anthony Yates - M.G. TD 1951
• Best British car - Paul Murray – Morris Minor 1965
• Best Foreign car - Roland Anderson - Dodge Charger RT 440 1969
• Mayor's favourite car - Peter Knight – Ford T 1913

Refreshments were available throughout the afternoon, along with live music and activities for children.
